Should my friend rest after going into preterm labor?

She is 2 centimeters dialated and in a lot of pain. Her doctor told her to keep working and walking around a lot. A friend of hers is in the same exact situation and she was told to rest and take it easy. My friend doesn't know what she needs to do. The baby is fully developed. She doesn't understand why her doctor won't go ahead and take her.
